Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 31-year-old Black male that occurred in a shelter.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Semaj Cato.
Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Newte.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 6:59 a.m.
The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on May 4, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.
