Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 13-year-old female that occurred at a residence.
The coroner’s office has identified the young teen as Sarah Lippiatt and listed her race/ethnicity as Hispanic.
Manner of Death: Suicide
Cause of Death: Hanging
RIP SARAH LIPPIATT (October 14, 2009 – August 7, 2023)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 8:20 a.m.

I didn’t know Sarah personally but she went to middle school with my son. He told me she was a beautiful soul always smiling and kind hearted. He said she was being bullied last school year by a lot of people which is probably what led to this. I feel same way as you. When my son told me although not knowing her my eyes filled with tears to know this young child felt she had no way out. I had to reinforce what I always tell my son. To talk to someone and there’s always help. We can all feel there’s no way out at some point but it can get better. Prayers to the family.
Yes I was depressed for days nonstop crying in my bed like she was my own child. I can’t imagine what her parents are going through especially finding her that way. I felt like she wanted me to write what I wrote because after I did all the depressed emotions I was feeling were released. She texted me a week before this asking if i could be here friend and put everything that happened with us behind and wanted me to forgive her and i said no and i do kinda regret it but she did what she did thats on her.
She was my gf like a month or 2 before this and some things happened and we broke up and damn this happened shi
But ngl she wasnt really the nicest to me and my friends she made fun of one of my suicidal friends before while we were dating so i broke up with sarah a day or 2 after cuz she also spread rumors about me and used me so i dont really care that much but she wasnt such an angel u are all acting like she is

I was one of Sarah’s elementary friends I knew her pretty well, we would hangout most of the times and ft during quarantine a lot. I sadly had moved away from LA before going back to school after quarantine. She tried reconnecting with me after I moved but we lost connection again shortly after. I would’ve never imagined this. This is devastating I just recently found out . I wish we could’ve still kept talking, I wish we never lost connection, I wish I knew sooner. My deepest condolences.
