(L.A.) Ruven Umansky, 89, Ended His Life

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 89-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at a residence.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ruven Umansky.
Manner of Death: Suicide
Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Head

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 5:31 p.m.
Hat tip to the commenter for noting that the decedent was the father of Alexander Umansky, one of the victims of serial killers Jurijus Kadamovas and Iouri Mikhel in 2001/2002. His son was killed even after he had paid a ransom of $234,628. The Umansky family was from the Soviet Union (Russia/Ukraine).

His son was kidnapped and murdered in a very famous crime spree in the early 2000s.
