Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 35-year-old Black male that occurred on a sidewalk in the South Park neighborhood.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Robert Pitts.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound to the Head

RIP ROBERT PITTS (December 13, 1987 – August 29, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 10:10 p.m.

Officers from LAPD’s Newton Division were called to Broadway and 54th Street, west of the Harbor (110) Freeway, where witnesses told them an unknown assailant approached the victim and shot him several times.
