(L.A.) Ray Scott, 65, Died at a Beach Shore

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 65-year-old Black male that occurred near Belmont Pier in Long Beach.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ray Scott.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Drowning

Other Significant Conditions: Coronary Artery Disease, Dilated Cardiomyopathy, Effects of Alcohol

RIP RAY SCOTT (February 9, 1960 – March 16, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 11:22 a.m.

The decedent’s body had washed ashore in the area of Ocean Boulevard and 36th Place.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 29, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.
