Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 59-year-old Latino male.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Rafael Velasquez.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Probable Acute Upper Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage, Source Undetermined

Other Significant Conditions: Chronic Anticoagulant Therapy with Apixaban; History of Myocardial Infarction; Hypertension; and Hyperlipidemia

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

Apixaban is used to treat or prevent deep venous thrombosis, a condition in which harmful blood clots form in the blood vessels of the legs.

The decedent had already suffered a heart attack previously.
