(L.A.) Miriam Montufar, 48, Died by Drowning

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 48-year-old female of Latin American ethnicity that occurred on a beach.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Miriam Montufar.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Drowning

Other Significant Condition: Acute Methamphetamine Intoxication

RIP MIRIAM MONTUFAR (December 10, 1971 – July 21, 2020)

One would think the place of death would be listed as “ocean.” Apparently, the decedent was a homeless woman who was pronounced dead near the 1800 block of Ocean Front Walk in Venice Beach about 5:50 a.m. on a Tuesday, according to the the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The place of death is wherever she was pronounced dead by first responders.

Note that this was the first year of COVID.
