(L.A.) Michael Scales, 45, Died From Drugs

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Black male that occurred at an apartment.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Michael Scales.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Cocaine, Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

RIP MICHAEL SCALES (August 3, 1978 – February 9, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 7:27 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on March 20, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

The government investigator had initially misspelled the decedent’s forename as Micheal, before correcting it in March.
