(L.A.) Michael Ortiz, 57, Died at a Private Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 57-year-old Latino male that occurred at a private residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Michael Ortiz.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Toxicity

Other Significant Condition: History of Hypertension

RIP MICHAEL ORTIZ (January 17, 1967 – March 4, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 3:52 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on May 21, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the meth.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
