(L.A.) Michael Jabali, 23, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 23-year-old “Middle Eastern” male of ethnicity that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Michael Jabali.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Nonspecific Cardiomyopathy

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 12:26 p.m.

The decedent appears to have been Lebanese, from Beirut, Lebanon.

A graduating senior at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), Jabali was running on the Student Recreation Center’s indoor track when he collapsed. Alongside him was a friend who promptly called for help. Firefighters arrived within minutes but the student succumbed at the hospital.
