(L.A.) Michael Hammond, 38, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 38-year-old Black male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Michael Hammond.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Methamphetamine Intoxication

RIP MICHAEL LEVI HAMMOND (June 17, 1987 – May 19, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 6, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
