L.A. Mayor Garcetti Tests Positive for COVID Despite Being “Fully Vaccinated”

Garcetti tested positive for the coronavirus while attending the COP26 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Scotland.

Garcetti was scheduled to moderate a discussion “on international finance to support city climate action” but his breakthrough case of COVID-19 has compelled him to go into isolation at his hotel in Glasgow.

The mayor received his first shot of synthetic mRNA in January when medical personnel recommended he get the jab while working at Dodger Stadium as part of the city’s vaccination effort.

“Quite simply, it was strong medical advice from the people that were there, and what’s offered to everybody that’s working there,” Garcetti told Deadline at the time when he defended getting vaccinated even though it was not yet his turn to do so.

Unfortunately for Garcetti, it seems that the shots did little to protect him from getting COVID-19 months later.
