(L.A.) Mauro Alfaro, 52, Died in a Riverbed

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 52-year-old Latino male that occurred in a riverbed.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Mauro Alfaro.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Injuries

RIP MAURO ANTONIO ALFARO (December 27, 1973 – January 26, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

The decedent was fatally attacked by the Compton Creek homeless encampment. He was one of four killed in that area over the past four months.

He was born in El Salvador and arrived in the United States when he was 16 years old.
