Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at a residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Matthew Kelly.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl Toxicity

RIP MATTHEW KELLY (October 24, 1982 – June 16, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 11:15 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 30, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug. This was an accidental overdose.
