(L.A.) Mary Cuevas, 62, Died in a Vehicle

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 62-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a vehicle.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Mary Cuevas.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Multiple Blunt-Force Injuries

Cause of Death B: Motor Vehicle Collision (Passenger)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

The decedent was in a fatal crash on the 91 Freeway near the Alameda Street exit in Compton.

DETAILS:

Vehicle flew off 91 Freeway embankment just before the Alameda offramp.

Rolled approximately 150 feet before landing upside down near the self-storage facility.

Three people believed to be inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Adult female, believed to be mother of one passenger, died at scene.

Another occupant transported with minor injuries.

Compton Fire Department declared the woman deceased.

Fence along property was damaged in the impact.
