(L.A.) Marvin Banks, 40, Died From a Fentanyl OD

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Marvin Banks and listed his race/ethnicity as Black + Asian.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl Toxicity

Other Significant Conditions: Morbid Obesity; Hypertension

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 10:22 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on January 16, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
