(L.A.) Martin Kovachev, 21, Died From a Gunshot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old Caucasian male that occurred at a private residence in Northridge.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Martin Kovachev.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Head

RIP MARTIN RADOSTINOV KOVACHEV (January 8, 1999 – October 10, 2020)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 2:18 a.m.

The narrative is that the decedent was shot when a gun that was being passed around by friends in a backyard accidentally discharged.

A 22-year-old woman was taken into custody by LAPD. Police said that the shooting was not gang-related.

Note that a ruling of homicide does not necessarily mean that it was a crime.

There was a Youtube comment that media outlets in Bulgaria had described this incident as a game of Russian roulette.
