Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Black male that occurred on a street.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Markus Caldwell.

Cause of Death: Blunt Head Trauma

LAPD PRESS RELEASE
Valley Traffic detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a man in his early 40°s.
On December 6, 2024, at around 5:15 p.m.,a pedestrian was crossing westbound De Soto Avenue, just north of Gresham Street. A grey or silver vehicle was traveling southbound on De Soto Avenue when it struck the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, remain at scene, and render aid, as required by law.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male pedestrian deceased at scene. The pedestrian a male, Black, in his early 40’s is a resident of Canoga Park.
