(L.A.) Mark Svendsen, 63, Died in Santa Clarita

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred on a hillside in Santa Clarita.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Mark Svendsen.

Blond hair. Green eyes.

Height: 6 feet / Weight: 155 pounds

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Intoxication

Other Significant Condition: Postmortem Thermal Changes/Artifacts

RIP MARK JOHN SVENDSEN (September 22, 1961 – July 22, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The decedent’s body was found in a Santa Clarita field after firefighters extinguished a fire.

L.A. County Fire Department had responded to a half-acre brush fire at around 10:00 p.m. The fire was burning behind a gated community at the intersection of Penlon Way and Soledad Canyon Road.
