(L.A.) Mario Morales, 51, Died in Long Beach

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 51-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Mario Morales of Long Beach.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Chest

RIP MARIO MORALES (August 15, 1972 – April 4, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 6:52 p.m.

This was a double shooting in the area of the 600 block of 61st Street in Long Beach. Morales was the first victim; he died at the scene. The second victim survived.

Morales, who is believed to not have been the actual target, was doing yard work, using a leaf blower in front of his home, when he was shot.
