Pacoima Structure Fire
13574 West Gager Street
Firefighters responded to find heavy fire showing from a detached garage in the rear of a residential property. Flames were already shooting out through the roof, causing crews to fight the fire from the ground only. Firefighters deployed hose lines and used forcible entry techniques to open up the front of the garage, gaining access for hose streams. It took 32 firefighter 20 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. One 15-year old female was found with burn injuries, treated by firefighter/paramedics, and transported to an area hospital (unknown condition/circumstances). During an interior search of the structure, sadly, firefighters found one person deceased. LAFD’s Fire Investigators are responding to investigate this fatality fire and attempt to identify a cause.
