(L.A.) Marc Sweet, 36, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 36-year-old Black male that occurred at Saint Francis Medical Center.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Marc Sweet. Born in L.A. County.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP MARC ALLEN SWEET (June 25, 1989 – August 21, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday night.

The decedent was a baseball coach.

LASD said he was shot at around 9:00 p.m. at the Shell gas station on the corner of Washington and Passons boulevards in Pico Rivera. He was shot after a verbal altercation with a man he did not know.

Two days later, on August 23, at a 76 gas station at Rosemead and Whittier boulevards, about two miles away from the first shooting, a 13-year-old boy was also fatally shot for unknown reasons.
