(L.A.) Manuel Leyva Mier, 25, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 25-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in the City of Industry.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Manuel Leyva Mier.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 8:34 p.m.

The decedent was riding a black 2016 Yamaha R6 westbound motorcycle on Temple Avenue when a silver Kia Soul suddenly changed lanes in front of him.

The sudden move caused Mier to lose control of the motorcycle and veer to the right where he hit a pole. The crash threw him from his motorcycle.

Instead of stopping to help, the Kia driver fled from the area.
