Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 60-year-old “Armenian” male that occurred at a residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Mahmoud Atashpanjeh.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Acute Cardiac Dysfucntion

Cause of Death B: Idiopathic Cardiomyopathy

RIP MAHMOUD ATASHPANJEH (September 21, 1948 – November 14, 2008)

The decedent’s surname is Middle Eastern / Persian / Iranian. It’s possible that the reason the coroner-investigator listed him as Armenian is because he was an ethnic Armenian from Iran but that usually is reflected in the person’s name. Perhaps he was a resident of Glendale and was simply assumed to be Armenian.
