(L.A.) Kannon Pandy, 19, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 19-year-old Black male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Kannon Pandy of Lancaster.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 10:55 p.m.

The decedent was killed when the car he was driving north on Challengery Way collided with an SUV near Avenue H-4 in Lancaster.

Statement from LASD’s Lancaster Station:

Preliminary investigation indicates a male adult in a sedan was northbound on Challenger Way when he made a left turn or attempted a U-turn in the path of an SUV that was traveling southbound on Challenger Way. The driver of the sedan was not wearing a seatbelt and was fatally injured.

The man driving the SUV was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Two vehicles collided late Monday night in the city of Lancaster leaving the driver of one of the vehicles trapped and fatally injured.

At approximately 10:42 p.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lancaster Station responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision on Challenger Way and Avenue H-4.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered one party was trapped inside one of the vehicles. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and utilized the Jaws of Life to free the trapped driver from the mangled vehicle. Their efforts to save the driver, however, were unsuccessful and they pronounced him deceased at the scene.
