Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 26-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Juan Zarat Oxlaj.

Cause of Death: Complications of Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.

Zarat and Oxlaj are distinctly Guatemalan surnames.

The decedent appears to have been from the tiny village of San Antonio Sija in Guatemala’s Totonicapán Department.
