Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk in Compton.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Juan Mulato.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Chest

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 3:24 a.m.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded at 3:09 a.m. to the 1000 block of Willowbrook Avenue, south of Rosecrans Avenue, where they found the deceased with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
