Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 65-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Juan Mendez.

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl

RIP JUAN MENDEZ (December 28, 1958 – April 29, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 1:46 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on June 26, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.
