(L.A.) Joseph Rentie, 47, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joseph Rentie.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Intoxication

Other Significant Conditions: Hypothermia; Alcohol Effects

RIP JOSEPH RENTIE (March 27, 1977 – December 21, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 4:48 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on March 18, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
