(L.A.) Joneya Rivero, 46, Died at an Encampment

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 46-year-old Black female that occurred at an encampment.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Joneya Rivero.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

RIP JONEYA RIVERO (May 20, 1977 – September 15, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 8:08 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 24, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.

This was an accidental overdose.
