(L.A.) Jay Jones, 68, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 68-year-old Black male that occurred at a residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jay Jones.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Cocaine Toxicity

Other Significant Condition: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

RIP JAY JONES (March 8, 1954 – February 28, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:22 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 22, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
