(L.A.) Jason Aguirre Jennings, 29, Died on a Cruise Ship

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 29-year-old Latino male that occurred on a cruise ship that had returned to California waters from Mexico.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jason Aguirre Jennings.

STATUS: The decedent’s body is ready to be released. Ruling by the deputy medical examiner is deferred pending additional investigation.

Manner and cause of death will be added to this page when it becomes available.

Because the DME has ordered toxicological screening, the next public update may take up to two months.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 9:00 a.m.

The decedent was a U.S. resident who had gone on a cruise with his friend Tulio Lacerda, with whom he shared a room on the ship. They were both found dead inside their cabin with no sign of violence or foul play. The results of drug tests are expected to be returned from the lab by the end of the year.
