(L.A.) Israel Ortiz, 34, Died in a Tent

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old Latino male that occurred in a tent.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Israel Ortiz.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

RIP ISRAEL ORTIZ (1991 – August 30, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 22, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
