Popular Idaho Surgeon Suffers Heart Attack While Mountain Biking
Dr. Jon Bernhard Getz passed away on July 8, 2021.
I just learned a good general surgeon in town, Dr. Jon Getz passed away yesterday. I worked with him for years at St Luke’s in Meridian OR/PACU. He was fast, patients liked him and he treated me with respect. RIP!

Getz was fully vaccinated in January, according to his life partner, Kara Cadwallader, a physician in Boise with Family Medicine Health Center and chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawaii, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky.
According to a columnist at the Idaho Statesman, being injected with synthetic mRNA had absolutely nothing to do with Doctor Getz’s death because the physician didn’t suffer the heart attack immediately after receiving the shot. Doctor Cadwaller herself said, “There’s a lot of other explanations for what happened to Jon than a COVID vaccination six months ago.”
Doctor Getz was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he was the valedictorian of Central High School. He graduated summa cum laude from the BA/MD program at Boston University and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati. After medical school, he served in the Air Force in San Antonio.
In 1993, the doctor moved to Idaho where he made his home, started his family, and set up his surgical practice.
Getz loved the Boise foothills, where he hiked with his children, friends and dogs. He is survived by his daughter Camilla, son Anton, and brother Tom.
RIP Jon Getz (November 18, 1960 – July 8, 2021)
