Red Sox/Yankees Game Canceled Due To Yankees’ COVID-19 Outbreak
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has revealed the club has six ongoing COVID-19 cases, all players.
Following positive COVID-19 tests within the Yankees organization, tonight’s game between the Yankees and the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium has been postponed to allow for continued testing and contact tracing. MLB will continue to provide scheduling updates as available.

The three players on the Yankees’ COVID-related injury list are Nestor Cortes Jr., Wandy Peralta, and Jonathan Loaisiga — they tested positive for the virus. Three others are waiting for confirmation of positive results.
The cases appear to be asymptomatic. The Yankees as a whole have passed the league’s mandated 85% vaccination rates. Cortes, Peralta, and Loaisiga were all vaccinated.
The Red Sox, one of few MLB teams that hasn't reached the 85% vaccination threshold, are out playing catch and look like they may take BP. The Yankees, one of the first teams to reach 85%, are dealing with their second COVID outbreak of the year.
