(L.A.) Helina Sanchez, a Baby, Died at Four Months

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a female of Latin American ethnicity that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the child as Helina Sanchez.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Community-Acquired Pneumonia

Other Significant Conditions: Coronavirus OC34 and Human Rhinovirus/Enterovirus (Nasopharyngeal)

The child was approximately 4 months 21 days old.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 11:03 a.m.

OC43 is one of seven coronaviruses known to infect humans. It is one of the viruses responsible for the common cold and may have been responsible for the 1889–1890 pandemic.

We do not know how recently she received vaccinations or how many. According to the CDC schedule, she would’ve been receiving quite a number.
