(L.A.) Giovanni Miranda, a Baby, Died in Lancaster

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a Latino male that occurred at a private residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the infant boy as Giovanni Miranda.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Asphyxia

Cause of Death B: Smothering

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

The child was almost two months old.

LASD deputies had responded at around 8:19 a.m. to the 44000 block of Beech Avenue for a child who was not breathing.

“Private residence” here indicates that it was not the decedent’s own home.
