Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

RIP GABRIEL HECTOR M. LOPEZ (September 18, 1993 – February 6, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday night.

The decedent was found lifeless on a downtown L.A. sidewalk in the 500 block of South San Pedro Street, outside the Weingart Center building.

Located in Skid Row, the Weingart Center for the Homeless primarily serves unhoused individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues.

Rather than relieving his financial difficulties, his Baldwin Park family apparently made him feel he had no choice but to turn to a nonprofit agency for help. It was there, in deep despair, that he jumped out a window, taking his own life.
