Triathlete Becomes FIFTH Toronto-Area Doctor to Die in July

The Toronto Sun is reporting that Dr. Candace Nayman passed away on July 28, 2022.

The 27-year-old triathlete was a resident doctor at McMaster Children Hospital in Hamilton. She died Thursday after collapsing during a training swim. Friends kept an around-the-clock prayer vigil for Nayman who would eventually lose her fight.

Fifth doctor to die in Ontario

According to her Twitter bio, the Toronto native received her medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 2020. She finished undegraduate studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Her pronouns are she/her.

Doctor Nayman tweeted about the COVID shots in January 2021, mentioning that her twin had lost her hearing to meningitis at 19 months of age.
