(L.A.) Fernie Alvarez, 49, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old Latino male that occurred at his residence.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Fernie Alvarez.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease
Other Significant Condition: Diabetes Mellitus and Methamphetamine Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-February, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
