RIP FARIBA AZAR (May 2, 1967 – February 27, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 3:05 a.m.

The decedent’s name appears to be Persian/Iranian.

California Highway Patrol said the incident was a three-vehicle crash involving two sedans and a big rig.

Officers had been called at around 2:43 a.m. to the southbound Santa Ana Freeway near the Lorena Street off-ramp where they found the wreckage.

One sedan appeared to have slammed into a freeway embankment and burst into flames and the second vehicle sustained significant front-end damage. Television video footage from the scene showed the big rig also sustained damage to one side of its trailer.
