The coroner’s office has identified the man as Eugene Chase.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Williams.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 12:42 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on January 12, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.
