(L.A.) Ernesto Vargas Hernandez, 55, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 55-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ernesto Vargas Hernandez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Toxicity

Other Significant Condition: History of Diabetes

RIP ERNESTO VARGAS HERNANDEZ (July 12, 1968 – May 29, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 10:43 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late August, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug. This is considered an accidental drug overdose.

The government investigator belated added Hernandez to the decedent’s name.
