Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 29-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Eddie Corona.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 12-26-24 10:30 p.m.

LOCATION: 1202 W Anaheim Street
AREA/CITY: San Pedro, California

DETAILS:

First responders were dispatched to a solo vehicle accident.

Arriving units found a vehicle had gone off the roadway and crashed at a high rate of speed into a backhoe at a construction site.

LAFD performed life-saving measures but was unsuccessful and declared two people deceased at the scene.

No one was at the construction site at the time of the accident.

LAPD Southeast is handling the investigation.
