(L.A.) Doo Suk Shin, 72, Died in Encino

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 72-year-old Asian male that occurred at a residential pool in Encino.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Doo Suk Shin.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Drowning

Other Significant Condition: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

RIP DOO SUK SHIN (June 24, 1951 – May 27, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 4:10 p.m.

A family member of the decedent had called 911 about finding their relative dead in the swimming pool.

LAFD responded to the 4800 block of Haskell Avenue at around 2:40 p.m. Paramedics believe the man had been deceased in the water for a while.
