(L.A.) DeShawn England, 16, Died in Westlake

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 16-year-old Black male that occurred in Westlake.

The coroner’s office identified the teen as Deshawn England.

Height: 5 feet 7 inches / Weight: 120 pounds

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Intoxication by the Combined Effects of Fentanyl, Alprazolam, and Ethanol

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 2, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, substance overdose.

The decedent was a missing person his family had been looking for.

His lifeless body was found at a bus stop at MacArthur Park, 2230 West 6th Street. The park is in the Westlake neighborhood between Koreatown and downtown L.A.

He was wearing a black t-shirt with the words “Insane Clown Posse” and images of clowns on the front and back; “Manfinity” blue jeans; black hightop Vans tennis shoes size 8; red and gray striped underwear; black socks; and a red and black weave belt.

There was no ID card on him and his fingerprints did not match any in government databases. It took a few days for him to be identified.
