(L.A.) Demetrius Mitchell, 40, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Demetrius Mitchell.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Hypertensive and Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: End-Stage Renal Disease

RIP DEMETRIUS MITCHELL (September 1, 1983 – April 1, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 7:40 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling in mid-May, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back negative for substances.
