(L.A.) Daniel Chavira, 21, Died in Santa Clarita

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old Latino male in Santa Clarita.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Daniel Chavira.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

RIP DANIEL V. CHAVIRA (September 14, 2003 – May 19, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

The decedent was an L.A. County sheriff’s deputy who was fatally injured in a three-car collision on San Francisquito Canyon Road. He was off-duty at the time.

He was airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
