(L.A.) Courtney Thomas, 41, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Black female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Courtney Thomas.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Fentanyl Intoxication

RIP COURTNEY THOMAS (January 19, 1984 – February 2, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 5:15 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 8, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Courtney Thomas” in public records.
