(L.A.) Cory Smith, 45, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Cory Smith.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Asphyxia

Cause of Death B: Choking

Other Significant Condition: Alcohol Intoxication

RIP CORY SMITH (September 18, 1977 – March 1, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 4:23 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late August, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.
